From 2021 to 2023

The Collingwood Indigenous Circle started as a grassroots group in 2021 on Orange Shirt Day. The following Spring, we hosted our first Change of Seasons gathering. It was a volunteer initiative by Muckpaloo Ipeelie. The Town of Collingwood and Unity Collective sponsored local Elder James Carpenter who provided us with a pipe ceremony to honour Mother Nature. Since then, the CIC has grown and established a loyal group of volunteer organizers to help ensure the gatherings are as inclusive and culturally appropriate as can be. There have been many Indigenous knowledge keepers and Elders who have shared their cultures and stories with the community. We have come a long way, and are still supported by the Town of Collingwood. Please enjoy this poster gallery of the continued events since our first one in 2022. Thank you to all who have come, and supported us.
